Catalyst support for gas curling iron
The requirement: The thermal effect is obtained through a chemical reaction between the gas contained in a cartridge and the catalyst (platinium group metal) coated on a net.
The difficult problems of industrialization encountered when using a metallic fabric, in the initial design, had to be completely resolved. As the web fraying led to untimely machine stoppage with the risk of the machine parts deteriorating,poor adhesion of the catalyst over time (changeable mesh), insufficient mechanical performance.
The METAL DEPLOYE solution: Using expanded metal meant totally automated mass production was possible. Studies to find specific suitable matter (resistance to high temperatures) with adaptation of the process and tools, monitoring of quality and logistics, all contributed to fulfilling the requirements of this major European household electrical appliances manufacturer.
