Expected function
When an airbag is triggered, residues of the explosive used may affect the passage of the inflation gasses and damage the airbag itself. The solution sought is a filter able to retain these particles under extreme temperature, impact and pressure conditions.
Métal Déployé’s answer
In complete collaboration with the airbag manufacturer's supplier and the airbag manufacturer themselves, we defined a stainless steel expanded mesh resistant to this severe, specific environment. Even while accepting a deep stamping imprint, this expanded mesh retains its usual qualities.
