This process does not produce any loss of material, which means that expanded metal is a particularly useful material when economics are being considered.
A three-dimensional design, expanded metal can nevertheless be flattened by rolling both for industrial applications (filters) as well as for applications for buildings or facilities (street furniture, fencing, etc.).
